Advocacy

Voice of Specially Abled People was incorporated with the Guiding mission:

To create a mass movement of the “CHANGEMAKERS” with their comprehensive, collective THOUGHT LEADERSHIP, ACTIONS and ADVOCACY for the EMPOWERMENT of 7 crores Specially Abled People (SAP) through Accessibility, Education and Employment that helps build the INCLUSIVE 21st-century Indian society.

Voice of SAP, under the leadership of Mr Pranav Desai, has started a global mass movement of like-minded people, who have taken publicly visible pledges to take action for Specially Abled People in the VOSAP mobile App. Over 8,600 volunteers and 100+ leaders have been inspired and joined our mission.

As part of our ADVOCACY efforts, we engaged with the common people through VOSAP Art from Heart, where we reached out to nearly 2 million people and witnessed participation from 2,200+ artists from 45+ countries who gave voice to the Disability Sector along with VOSAP. This mass movement inspired 74%+ youth (below age 30), 15% Specially Abled Artist while 85% of participants with no disability!

Advocacy among Corporations was seen in the form of the Disability Inclusion Index (DII) Framework- a data and research-driven framework- that quantifies and measures a company’s inclusivity of PwD based on a 100 point system. The framework, which is a fruit of the efforts of Youth Volunteers as part of the Research Program, can help corporations devise their Disability and Inclusion (D&I) strategy that is comprehensive and a useful matrix to start measuring.

On the International Disability Day this year, we have successfully launched the World’s First Virtual Art Gallery on Disability for Social Inclusion.

How can you help?

  1. You can also become a part of this BIG CHANGE yourself and take a VOSAP volunteer pledge of action to start advocating for rights of SAPs in and around your sphere of influence.
  2. Join one of the volunteer teams for Awareness creation through booths, meetings and community outreach etc.
